Back in July, Bethesda announced that they were making the original
DOOM,
DOOM II, and
DOOM 3 available for home consoles and mobile devices. Upon releasing, however, fans were quick to notice that the audio in the first two titles was off and the music's speed was considerably slower.
Besides the audio issues, the
DOOM and
DOOM II re-released titles are pretty good ports of the original MS-DOS versions. The music's speed being slower than the original, however, is sacrilegeous at best. Thankfully, Bethesda was made aware of the issue and announced that they were already working on a fix.
Today Bethesda has announced that a new game update for both the original
DOOM and
DOOM II is already available; fixing audio issues, lighting, and even offering some performance improvements. Having tested the games myself, the music is now completely fixed and sounds just like it did in the originals.
Bethesda also revealed that players who link their Slayers Club account in-game will earn some classic-looking skins that can be used when
DOOM Eternal launches on the
22nd of November.
