After being heavily rumoured for a while, Bethesda officially confirmed earlier last month that
DOOM 64 would be getting re-released for the Nintendo Switch on the 22nd of November; the same date that
DOOM Eternal was scheduled to release.
Today, however, we may have some upsetting news for people anticipating
DOOM 64 on the Nintendo Switch, as Bethesda announced that the game will no longer be releasing on the 22nd of November. According to the new information, both
DOOM Eternal and DOOM 64 are being pushed back.
The good news is that bethesda also officially confirmed that
DOOM 64 will now be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in addition to the Nintendo Switch version of the classic game; still scheduled to release alongside DOOM Eternal, which is now coming out on the
20th of March in 2020.
Bethesda also revealed that
DOOM 64 is now a pre-order bonus for
DOOM Eternal; meaning that those who pre-order
DOOM Eternal will get
DOOM 64 completely free of charge with their purchase.
While both
DOOM Eternal and
DOOM 64 being pushed back to next year may upset some fans, it is still for the best that the developers are taking their time to deliver the best experience possible; after the critically acclaimed
DOOM(2016), they have some big shoes to fill.
DOOM 64 is expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on the 20th of March in 2020.
