DOOM ETERNAL Manages To Set New Record, With Best Opening Week Sales For The Franchise

DOOM Eternal was one of the most anticipated games of the year, especially for fans of the first-person shooter genre. The sequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM(2016) looked like an even better version than its predecessor, which is what made players look forward to the release.

As itturns out, all the hype for the game really paid off, as Bethesda has announced that DOOM Eternal broke a record for the DOOM franchise with the series' best ever opening week sales; managing to double the revenue that DOOM(2016) generated at launch.

Bethesda didn't, however, reveal exactly how many copies of DOOM Eternal were sold over its launch weekend, but they did reveal that over 100,000 players on Steam have acquired the highly anticipated title, and it is also the best-selling game on that platform.

DOOM Eternal was met with nothing but praise from critics and players, so there's no doubt that the game is doing well. Hopefully Bethesda will soon share some numbers to get a better idea exactly how many copies — both physical and digital — has the game sold; especially when considering that the game still has to release on the Nintendo Switch.
