During E3 2019, Bethesda's presentation saw the release of some
DOOM Eternal gameplay footage as well as the unveiling of the game's collector's edition. It's this special edition version of the game that has revealed id Software's DLC plans for the highly anticipated, upcoming sequel.
The collector's edition states that, as a part of
DOOM Eternal's
"Year One" post-launch content, the game will get two expansions to its single-player campaign mode.
Being a part of the Year One content, it means that both of these DLC expansions will drop within a year of the
DOOM Eternal's release.
Comicbook.com speculate that the first expansion will release six months after
DOOM Eternal drops and the second will release on the game's anniversary.
It's unclear at the moment exactly what these expansions will include. Though you'd typically expect a substantial continuation of the game's story within an expansion like this, there's a chance that it could be something smaller - given that two will be releasing within the game's first year alone.
DOOM Eternal is set to release on November 22nd, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
