With Bethesda's recent announcement of Fallout 76, ahead of E3 2018, came a ton of questions. A recent leak aims to quell some of these queries.
Many worried that the talk of an online/multiplayer focus would subsequently mean that Fallout 76 would be throwing out the RPG aspects that made the franchise so iconic. Though we've had plenty of rich stories attached to online games in the past; this leak proves those worries pointless nonetheless - teasing a prevalent and intriguing story.
According to a recent Reddit post; the leak entailed:
Still an RPG.
Voiced protagonist will be optional.
Even more dialogue options.
Skill system overhaul.
"Rebuilding" will be heavily emphasized, more settlements.
Main quest will be fruitful, side quests will have more meaning following Fallout 4 feedback.
Shortly after the Great War, meaning Police Officers, Military, and other "day job" veterans will still be around.
Main story will be vault-focused.
-
"An example of a major player in the story is an Irish ghoul who acts as one of the game's 5 companions."
-
He married Stanislaus Braun's daughter.
Major Antagonist (potential ally) details:
-
Former US Army Captain, compared to Hannibal.
"More lovecraftian god worshipping inbred rednecks similar to point lookout."
No supermutants.
Significant lore changes.
The leak did mention that Fallout: New Vegas writer Chris Avellone would be taking point on the main questline, which has already been debunked by the man himself.
So, like every leaked piece of information, take it with a grain of salt. Though, being optimistic, if even a small percentage of this leak were true, it could mean big things for the Fallout franchise.
What do you think about the leak? Do you think it's plausible? Which bullet-point excites you the most?
