This year, the player will have a chance to purchase two big-budget video games set in gaudy post-apocalyptic environments: Ubisoft Montreal's
Far Cry: New Dawn and id Software and Avalanche Studios'
RAGE 2. Both games will present drastically different visions of the end of the world as
FCND and
RAGE 2 are equally filled with bright colors, creative weaponry, crazy side characters, and "fun."
Ubisoft's latest FPS releases next Friday alongside 4A Games'
Metro: Exodus, so it will be interesting to see which game will get more praise from players as both shooters are single-player-focused projects.
PlayStation Underground has released over 10 minutes of non-stop
New Dawn footage, giving us a change to take a closer look at the game's side missions dubbed
Expeditions. For the first time in the acclaimed series, you will finally be able to go outside the main open-world map and visit other parts of the fallen world, including an enemy-controlled aircraft carrier and abandoned amusement park.
Far Cry: New Dawn has gone gold, which means that development is complete and the shooter is ready for manufacturing ahead of its February debut. Quite interestingly,
New Dawn was announced around two months ago, so this
FC5 spin-off will be one of the fastest releases in Ubisoft's publishing history.
Take a look:
Dive into a transformed vibrant post-apocalyptic Hope County, Montana, 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe. Join fellow survivors and lead the fight against the dangerous new threat the Highwaymen, and their ruthless leaders The Twins, as they seek to take over the last remaining resources.
Far Cry: New Dawn launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 15, 2019.
