The Far Cry franchise has always been known never to be a series tied down to one narrative. For multiple installments, players have been transported to lands lost at sea, to a land before time, or even the player's own backyard. Yet one thing has always stayed the same; its strong stories and incredibly layered and unique characters.
With the new console generation finally here, most of the game franchises that have been around for at least a decade have been announcing continuations to their stories with games that feature state of the art graphics and additions that make all other installments pale in comparison. Far Cry 6 is a fine example of this with the chance to lead a small South American town hip-deep in a rebellion against a president played by the legendary Giancarlo Esposito.
The game will put the player in a guerilla fighter's shoes as they fight to take down this oppressive establishment and bring true order to a war town society. Since its announcement, fans have been wondering when the game would release, aside from its vague 2021 window, and according to the official Microsoft website, that date could actually be this spring! There is no hard confirmation yet, but being that it is the only lead, there is hope that the game will release right before the summer of next year.
The latest addition in the Far Cry series looks to be one of its most narratively groundbreaking yet, and with an amazing lead villain that could even top Far Cry 3, a successful entry seems like a given. We would love to hear your thoughts on the news in the comments below!
