With the arrival of
Fortnite Battle Royale Season 4, came a giant comet that drastically altered the map. But aliens and superheroes don't appear to be the only strange things lurking around the map these days. It seems there could be something much larger roaming around
Fortnite: dinosaurs.
Players have discovered a mysterious dinosaur imprint within the now-destroyed house south of Snobby Shores and west of Greasy Grove. Items from a film set are also present, specifically a camera pointed directly at the destroyed house. This seemingly ties in with other movie set items and filming locations located around the map since the start of season 4 with update 4.0. It's unclear what this means, but clearly there is some connection.
Epic Games has already released two dinosaur-themed skins for
Fortnite, the Rex and Tricera Ops skins. There was also the the Dinosaur Banner Icon as a reward for the 99th tier in the Season 3 Battle Pass.
Prior to the start of season 4, Epic had dropped numerous hints within the game referencing the meteor that went on to hit Dusty Depot, turning it into Dusty Divot. Is Epic already hinting at the theme for next season? It seems pretty early, given that season 4 literally just begun. But, the developer has said they intend to keep refreshing the map.
In addition to the dinosaur tracks, players have also discovered a secret battle token. As explained by Redditor
Bfor45, after completing the Blockbuster Challenge for the first week, players can unlock a loading screen featuring a barely visible token above the guard tower at the prison. Heading to that location will reveal the secret token which will grant anyone who collects it a full tier reward.
Fortnite Battle Royale season 4 is now live.
