The launch of Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3 has been pushed back again. After delaying its launch a month back in April, the new chapter was supposed to go live on June 4. Fans will now have to wait another week as Epic Games has announced a new launch date on June 11.
Epic attributed the week delay to needing to "get everything ready," suggesting that there may have been some setbacks. In any case, the extra time allotted allows people to complete their remaining Battle Pass Challenges which will allow them to lock in their appearance choices for Brutus, TNTina, Meowscles, Skye, Midas, and Maya before the new season.
Speaking of the new season, the special one-time-only event, The Device, is now scheduled for Saturday, June 6. The event will being at 2:00 p.m. ET, but Epic recommends showing up 30 minutes early to ensure your spot, as space is limited.
The Device will act as the Doomsday live event, which is typically used to usher in changes for the new season. Not much is known about the event, but speculation and leaked swimming animations have led to predictions that the battle royale map could be sent underwater as part of the event. Assuming this to be true, a portion fo Season 3's map could feature some underwater gameplay mechanics.
