The sandstorm that has been brewing off the coast of the Island in Fortnite has finally hit. What's left behind is a wasteland of chaos.

Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked is now live in Fortnite, and Epic Games has shared the official launch trailer. From the savage band of Wasteland Warriors to all-new vehicular combat mechanics, this new season brings the heat.

In the trailer below, we get a glimpse of this season's bosses (known as the Wasteland Warriors) who also double as the character Outfits in this season's Battle Pass. We also have confirmation that the Fallout-themed T-60 Power Armor is also available to unlock through the Battle Pass rather than sold as an individual item in the store or as a loot drop in the actual match.

The Wrecked Battle Pass is available for 950 V-Bucks and grants premium rewards that can be used in Fortnite Battle Royale, creator-made islands, LEGO® Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. The Battle Pass also allows you to earn up to 1,500 V-Bucks back by leveling up, not only allowing you to recoup the money spent but come away with more! This season's unlockable Outfits are:

  • The Machinist (unlocked right away!): Control your fire.
  • Rust: Shred the wasteland.
  • Peabody: Phil, Earl, and Axle. Three peas in a podcoat.
  • Ringmaster Scarr: Rule the chaos. Run the destruction.
  • T-60 Power Armor: Courtesy of the Brotherhood of Steel.
  • Brite Raider: Drive fast. Burn bright.
  • Megalo Don: Nitro-fueled apex predator.

You'll notice that some of these Outfits also double as bosses you'll find around the Island this season. The Wasteland Warriors are the equivalent of last season's Gods, providing you with powerful rewards if you manage to defeat them.

The Machinist, for example, can be found at Redline Rig (a new Point of Interest). Defeating the Wasteland Warriors' master mechanic will reward you with "The Machinist's Medallion," which regenerates your Shield over time, as well as her Mythic The Machinist's Combat Assault Rifle. If you defeat her inside Redline Rig, you can use her Medallion to open the garage where her car is found. Alternatively, you can also seize her modded-up vehicle by force if you find her she's in the convoy.

Ringmaster Scarr is another Wasteland Warrior who can be found at the Nitrodome. Defeating Ringmaster Scarr will drop "Ringmaster Scarr’s Medallion," which gives you infinite ammo and a small damage buff. Like the Machinist, you can also use the Medallion to unlock her car at the Nitrodome or seize it from a convoy. Defeating her anywhere will unlock the Ringmaster's Boom Bolt.

Lastly, we have Megalo Don, the Wasteland Warriors’ master muscle found at Brutal Beachhead (the base of operations for the Wasteland Warriors). Defeating him will get you "Megalo Don's Medallion," which infuses you with infinite Nitro, as well as his vehicle and the Mythic Maglo Don's Nitro Fists.

Speaking of Nitro, this comes in the form of Nitro Splash or Nitro Barrels. Nitro Splash is a portable Nitro container you can throw down to infuse your car (or yourself) with Nitro. Nitro Barrels are Nitro containers that explode Nitro on contact. Nitro has different effects depending on if you use it on a car or a player.

If used on a car, you'll get increased driving speed, decreased fuel consumption, buffs to attached attack mods, and explosive ramming power that deals damage and knockback. If used on a player, you'll get increased movement speed, decreased stamina consumption that allows you to sprint longer, faster reload speed, fall damage immunity, and explosive bashing power that deals damage and knockback.

As mentioned above, vehicle mods are back! Cow Catchers and Chonkers Off-Road Tires have been unvaulted, while four new mods have been added. Here's what they all do:

  • Machine Gun Turret (roof slot): Have a passenger fire a machine gun while someone else drives!
  • Grenade Launcher Turret (roof slot): Some would call this littering, but the Grenades will get rid of themselves by exploding.
  • Spiked Bumper (front bumper slot): Deal more damage to players and objects on impact.
  • Cow Catcher (front bumper slot): Boost your ramming power and give your car some defensive armor.
  • Bulletproof Tires (tires slot): Tired of tire poppers? Make your tires indestructible!
  • Chonkers Off-Road Tires (tires slot): Make your car more off-road friendly. Especially useful if you’re not driving an SUV!

To mod your vehicle, you'll need to visit a Vehicle Mod Box with your car. If your car is low on health, you can hit a Repair Box, or use a Repair Torch.

In addition to all these massive new additions, we've got new weapons, items and more just waiting to be discovered across the wasteland. Keeping true to the Fallout theme, you'll now find Nuka-Cola around the map. This will restore a bit of Health and, over time, some shield. There are also Kind Cacti that you can pickaxe to splash yourself with a bit of healing for yourself and your vehicle.
