Content update v9.30 has arrived in
Fortnite, and it packs quite a punch. Battle Royale welcomes a new weapon - the Revolver - along with the return of the fan-favorite Pump Shotgun and more.
Available in Epic and Legendary variants, the Revolver does 63/66 damage per shot, respectively, with a headshot multiplier of two. It holds six rounds and fires medium ammo. The highlight of today's update is the unvaulting of the Uncommon and Rare Pump Shotgun, which can be found in floor loot and Vending Machines. Also returning from the vault is the Shockwave Grenade and Suppressed SMG. With the return of the Pump Shotgun and Suppressed SMG as close-range weapons, there's less of a need for the Rare Tactical Assault Rifle, so that has been vaulted. Other items sent to the vault include Impulse Grenades, the Rift-To-Go, and the Pirate Cannon.
"With the unvaulting of the Suppressed Submachine Gun, we wanted to make sure loot distribution in this class of item was well distributed," Epic said of the Tactical Assault Rifles removal.
"We feel the Suppressed Submachine Gun can fill a complementary role to the Burst Submachine Gun as a viable alternative."
Interestingly, there was no changes made to the Combat Shotgun which is far and away the best weapon in
Fortnite right now.
"There’s been a lot of feedback around the Tactical Shotgun and Combat Shotgun effectiveness, and so we’re experimenting with a world where the Pump Shotgun joins the current shotgun lineup," Epic said. The Tactical Shotgun has also had its headshot multiplier increased from 2 to 2.25.
In addition to the Battle Royale changes, update v9.30 officially
kicks off Fortnite's 14 Days of Summer. This in-game event will feature a new Limited Time Mode every day along with one weapon unvaulted for 24 hours only.
Today's LTM is Splashdown and
the unvaulted weapon is the LMG.
