Though Season 6 has only just begun, last night Epic Games removed one of its new consumable items: Shadow Stones. This was on account of unforeseen "issues," which are believed to be players using the abilities that the consumable provides you to phase into areas of which they shouldn't be allowed - such as the back of closed 18-wheeler trucks or buildings that flat-out don't have entrances.
Thankfully, Epic recently took to Twitter to confirm that they've found a fix for the item's problems and have re-added it to the game: "Shadow Stones have returned to Battle Royale! Drop in now and sneak up on the competition."
However, as you can see in the above tweet, Epic have removed the Port-A-Fortress item, which was only added recently, to address "degraded performance". As you'd expect, the Port-A-Fortress, when thrown like a Pokeball, builds a huge fortress immediately.
The Shadow Stones however were added even more recently with the debut of Season 6 and imbue the player with the ability phase through walls, remain invisible to opponents (whilst stationery), and jump massive lengths - without fall damage.
Both of these items have quickly become fan-favourites. Thankfully, at least one is currently available as Epic worked fast to iron out its problems - hopefully the same can be said for the other.
What do you think of these items? Have you tried out the Shadow Stones yet?
Fortnite Season 6 has begun.
