The tenth season of
Fortnite's battle royale mode has seemingly been brought to a close in an interesting and confusing way. A stunning and cataclysmic in-game event recently took place which saw a meteor collide with the battle royale map and the entire game consequently vanished.
This event has been dubbed
"The End," and players are currently unable to play
Fortnite at all. Not only has the playable portion of the game been locked and replaced with what is essentially a fancy wallpaper, the menus are nowhere to be seen either.
The End has left many players frustrated and worried that the content they worked and paid for has been lost. Thankfully, PlayStation recently confirmed that V-Buck and cosmetic items are safe and sound.
"Epic is aware of the Fortnite Blackout. Please be assured that your inventory items and V-Bucks are secure," said
@AskPlayStation in a tweet.
Speaking of Twitter, it's not just the
Fortnite game which has vanished but also its social media presence. All prior tweets from
@FortniteGame have been removed and the game's official Twitch account is also now blank. Only one tweet from the social media page remains and it's a livestream of the ominous vortex — which you can check out below:
