For the second straight day, Epic Games has teased the forthcoming new season for
Fortnite's battle royale. Yesterday, the developer
shared the first Season 9 image of what appeared to be a futuristic soldier. An accompanying caption teased: "The future is unknown."
Today's image is similar in tone and design, but adds: "The future is bright." The character in the image is also somewhat futuristic-looking, but appears to be more of a pilot in nature.
It's possible - likely, even - that the two images could be hints at upcoming outfits in the Season 9 battle pass. Epic hasn't shared any specifics regarding Season 9, as the developer tends to only release teaser images before dropping the new update.
Updates in the past have usually resulted in massive map changes, new items or weapons, and sometimes entirely new mechanics. It'll be interesting to see what Epic has in store for Season 9, especially after the major event that just occured. In case you missed it, last weekend's "Unvaulting" and Volcano event resulted in t
he return of the Drum Gun and
destruction of two popular locations, Tilted Towers and Retail Row. Right now those once-popular areas are nothing but ash and rubble, but perhaps Epic has big plans for them in the upcoming season.
Fortnite Season 9 will go live on Thursday, May 9.
