Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands is one vastly popular project topping lists of best-selling games for months and is another proof that the “games as a service” approach in developing pays off (if it’s implemented smartly). In the newest free update Ubisoft clearly indicates that Wildlands will soon become Battlegrounds.

The “Ghost Wars” actualization brings a new 4vs4 mode called Uplink, 5 new maps (3 of them dedicated to the debuting mode) and a new class, Disruptor. In the future, the PvP mode is going to receive 5 major updates in a span of 6 months. Ubisoft Paris is working on new game modes, classes, maps and overall attempts on improving the experience (including balancing and fixing Wildlands).  The last update should be released in April and add leaderboards.
