There's no denying that
Metro: Exodus was not only the best-reviewed major video game of March 2019 (I would like to remind you that
Anthem, Jump Force, Crackdown 3, Far Cry: New Dawn, and many more debuted the very same month), but there's still room for improvement, especially when it comes to the story-driven shooter's technical side, as
Exodus featured some pretty irritating bugs at launch.
In
Exodus’ free expansion, titled
Ranger Update, 4A Games will bring some much-desired content and fixes to their latest title, that should make the community happy. First of all, now you will have an opportunity to check out the
New Game+ mode that will allow you to start a new game while keeping all your gear, upgrades, and abilities that you've successfully gathered in your previous playthrough.
Naturally, the mode becomes available from the
New Game menu only after completing the game at least once. The special "
Developer Commentary" is also featured in
Exodus, giving you a chance "
to find special tape players on which members of the 4A Games team discuss some of the design choices that went into making Metro: Exodus in that area," but it only applies to the NG+ functionality.
4A Games has also fixed some of the bugs players have reported and vastly improved the way the AI reacts to player’s actions. Finally, you will now be able to change the game’s day/night cycle from 2 to 24 real hours for complete immersion, and if you want to really test your skills, you can always play in the "
Iron Mode" that fully disables the
Save System with progress being saved only between levels.
The year is 2036. A quarter-century after nuclear war devastated the earth, a few thousand survivors still cling to existence beneath the ruins of Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro. They have struggled against the poisoned elements, fought mutated beasts and paranormal horrors, and suffered the flames of civil war. But now, as Artyom, you must flee the Metro and lead a band of Spartan Rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East. Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created.
Metro: Exodus is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC NOW!
