During Summer Game Fest 2025, Mundfish officially revealed The Cube, a new massively multiplayer RPG shooter set in the Atomic Heart universe. Several years after the events of the original game, the world faces a mysterious and existential threat: a massive, levitating structure called The Cube. What looks like a geometric marvel is in truth a dangerous, anomaly-filled labyrinth and the key to humanity’s survival may lie at its center. Check out awesome new trailer down below:

The Cube is currently in development for PC and consoles, and marks a bold new direction for the retrofuturistic Atomic Universe.

The game’s announcement trailer teased the titular Cube itself a colossal, floating structure suspended above the Earth. According to the official synopsis, The Cube has become the center of strange and dangerous phenomena. Players will need to descend into the Cube, face vicious enemies, and solve a mysterious equation hidden at its core. Solving this riddle could prevent human extinction. Failing to do so? Game over for everyone.

Mundfish founder and CEO Robert Bagratuni touted the project as a technological leap forward. "We were the first in the industry to implement a system where thousands of objects can move and rotate in real-time across massive terrain,” said Bagratuni. This is made possible by Mundfish’s proprietary Split-Rendering System, which offers synchronized multiplayer, fluid motion, and precision object tracking even in an evolving, physics-heavy environment. "It’s powered by rocket science,” Bagratuni added.

Key Features of The Cube:

  • A Deep, Original Narrative: A standalone story set after the events of Atomic Heart, complete with high stakes and cosmic mystery.
  • Dynamic Environment: The Cube constantly shifts with rotating walls, moving edges, and unpredictable terrain changes present players with ever-changing combat scenarios.
  • Exploration and Biomes: Players will explore a wide variety of biomes, each filled with quests, hidden lore, and environmental hazards.
  • Persistent Progression: Character growth continues even through failure. Customize your loadout and tailor your playstyle with deep progression options.
  • Strategic Combat: Battle through waves of enemies and bosses using a mix of ranged weapons, powers, and tactical preparation.
  • Cutting-Edge Tech: The Split-Rendering System brings smooth multiplayer integration, natural-feeling physics, and seamless transitions between combat and exploration.

The Cube is shaping up to be an ambitious blend of storytelling, innovation, and multiplayer design. It promises to evolve both the Atomic Heart franchise and the shooter-RPG genre in radical new ways.

What are your thoughts on the announcement and trailer? Do you think this will do better than Destiny in the MMORPG Shooter space?
