Blizzard is no stranger to success, but they have to be very happy today considering the fact that Overwatch has passed 25 million players. The game's official Twitter account made the news official, stating: "The world needs heroes, and over 25 MILLION have answered the call! The fight for the future isn't over yet, though... Are you with us?" That's an undeniably impressive achievement.

That 25 million is likely a reference to the number of registered accounts, and Activision has not released any sales figures for the game. Even so, that figure is up 5 million since October which is a very big deal. It goes without saying that further expansions are currently being planned by Blizzard!

It was earlier this week that Overwatch's Year of the Rooster event went live
, and that will run until February 13th. It brought over 100 themed items and a brand new "Capture the Rooster" brawl to the game. Tell us, have you been playing Overwatch? As always, be sure to let us know in the usual place.
