Overwatch 2 is set to launch one of its most exciting collaborations yet! The highly anticipated Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing crossover goes live tomorrow, April 29, 2025, bringing four brand-new Legendary skins and a fresh approach to character transformations.

A new trailer, now live on the official Overwatch 2 YouTube channel, shows off the incredible new designs. Watch it below!

Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing Skins: Full Lineup

When the collab event begins, players can unlock the following Legendary skins:

  • Mercy as Wing Zero

  • Ramattra as Epyon

  • Soldier: 76 as Tallgeese

  • Reaper as Deathscythe

Each skin pays homage to an iconic mobile suit from the legendary Gundam Wing anime while pushing Overwatch’s creative design boundaries further than ever before.

Pushing the Limits of Overwatch 2 Character Designs

During a recent interview Aimee Dennett, Associate Director of Product Management at Blizzard, explained that these skins presented unique challenges. Unlike previous collaborations, Gundam Wing’s hard surfaces and precise Gunpla model designs required the Overwatch 2 team to rethink how far they could transform their heroes while maintaining recognizable silhouettes.

"When we first started, it was important we maintain player trust," Dennett said. "But Gundam Wing gives us an opportunity to go farther than we normally would."

Mercy’s Wing Zero skin exemplifies this new philosophy. According to Overwatch 2 Art Director Dion Rogers, this is the first Legendary skin to completely cover Mercy’s human features, including her face. However, because of her unmistakable winged silhouette, players will still instantly recognize her.

Fan-Demanded Designs

  • Ramattra as Epyon was a top demand from Gundam enthusiasts within the Overwatch 2 team.

  • Soldier: 76 as Tallgeese was the second most requested, and marks a big visual shift from his usual military design to a full mobile suit-inspired armor set.

This collaborative event highlights Blizzard's evolving approach: more transformative, more detailed, and true to both Overwatch and Gundam Wing fandoms.

Players can also look forward to intricate skin detailing inspired by the craftsmanship of Gunpla models, bridging the massive scale of Gundam mechs with the human proportions of Overwatch heroes.
