Blizzard has been doing a solid job at cross-promoting their games Overwatch and Heroes of The Storm. And to continue the trend, today in the beta for HOS, players can now use the cyebernetic assasin Genji in battle. His abilities are slightly similar to how they are in Overwatch, but with some major changes. For instance, his increased mobility, shuriken attack, deflect, dragonblade and swift strike are all present in the game in one way or the other, but his heroic ability comes in the form of the X-strike, which allows him to deal huge amounts of damage to a single area in the shape of an X.
Hanamura shows up as well, but not as a Control map like it is in Overwatch. In HOS, it will be a payload battleground, the first of its kind to HOS. In payloadbattlegrounf, each team will push payloads into the enemy team's base, as each payload inflicts set amounts of damage. First team to destroy the enemy base wins. Multiple payloads can spawn at the same time, with just different routes for players to take. The map features new mercenary units as well, and their design is based off of that of the "Dragons" animated feature for Overwatch.
