As expected,
Overwatch's Halloween Terror - the special event themed around Halloween - will return this year. Blizzard announced the limited time Halloween event will return on October 9 and run through October 31.
Specific details were not revealed yet, but the announcement came alongside a teaser that showed the Eichenwalde castle being transformed into a spooky haunted castle. An intriguing rhyming riddle was posted with it.
The Eichenwalde map received a spooky reskin during 2017's Halloween Terror event and the teaser seems to suggest the same for 2018. However, it's unclear if any other maps will get a reskin for the event. Additionally, players can expect the return of the PvE brawl Junkenstein's Revenge, which received an endless mode last year, as well as new and returning seasonal items. Last year saw legendary new skins like Dracula Reaper, Van Helsing McCree, Totally 80’s Zarya, and Dragon Symmetra become available alongside the return of older Halloween Terror gear at a discounted price. Blizzard has not yet revealed 2018's new Halloween items.
In addition to all of the in-game goodies, fans to who want to express their
Overwatch excitement in real life can find
officially licensed costumes and accessories over at Spirit Halloween. Soldier: 76, Mercy, Reaper, and D.Va are just some of the
Overwatch costumes they'll have available this year. Additionally,
Disguise has also partnered with Blizzard to create costumes and accessories including: Tracer, Genji, and Soldier: 76, as well as Genji’s sword and Soldier: 76’s Pulse Blaster. These can be found within select Party City, Target, and Wal-Mart locations.
