With an update today,
Overwatch's 31st hero, Sigma, is now playable on the live servers.
First
revealed, last month, Sigma is an astrophysicist who drove himself mad in an attempt to unlock the secrets of the universe. Sigma is a tank with the ability to control and manipulate gravity.
His abilities include the ability to launch explosive gravitic charges, propelling a floating shield barrier, freezing incoming projectiles and convering them into shields, and flinging debris at enemies. His ultimate, Gravitic Flux, sees Sigma take flight, lift enemies in a targeted area, and launching them into the sky before slamming them back down.
Arriving alongside Sigma
is Role Queue, a new queue system that should improve matchmaking in Competitive and Quick Play. The new feature allows players to enter the queue as one of three roles: tank, support, or damage. Once in a game, the player can select from the heroes within their chosen roles. As a result of the new feature, team comps in
Overwatch are now strictly two tanks, two supports, and two damage dealers.
