OVERWATCH: New Tie-In Short Story Teases An Upcoming Ana Skin & Reveals That Soldier: 76 Is Gay
Another one of Overwatch's characters has been revealed to be a member of the LGBT community, and a new skin based on the Egyptian goddess "Bastet" has been teased for Ana. Take a look...
Blizzard recently released a Overwatch short story, titled "Bastet", which features both Ana and Soldier: 76. A new skin is teased for the former and the latter is revealed to be homosexual.
The short story, which you can read for yourself here, sees Soldier and Ana meet-up in Cairo - following a confrontation with Reaper. 76 is trying to convince Ana to join Overwatch, but she's having none of it, being busy on a job.
Over the course of the story we learn of a now defunct relationship that Solider had with a man named Vincent. Though the pair were in love upon a time, Vincent has since married another man. This reveals that Soldier is now one of Overwatch's three LGBT characters - the other two, of course, being Tracer and Zarya.
The game's writer Michael Chu took to Twitter to confirm Soldier's status:
Along with this revelation, the story also teases a new skin for Ana based on the titular Bastet - which is an Egyptian goddess whom, of course, looked like a cat. See Blizzard's below tweet (@PlayOverwatch) about the story to get an idea of what to expect.
