OVERWATCH: The Reporting Function Is Getting A New Update
Fans of Overwatch rejoice, the report feature in the game is getting some updates that will help improve its functionality. Click the jump for more information.
If you've been playing Overwatch for a while then you're familiar with how certain players can be some of the worst people to interact with. Whether it's the fact that they leave the game in the middle of a ranked match, or they intentionally are giving the enemy team some free kills, these types of players are the worst. So the big suits at Blizzard have heard your complaints, and are retroactively trying to fix this predicament that a lot of players find themselves in.
While there currently is a report and penalty system in place, Blizzard has stated that some improvements will be incoming shortly. They're going to fine tune this system so that it's a little bit more focused on who it's giving a penalty and for what. So if someone is being abusive in the chat, or harassing others players, the updated system is going to discipline them accordingly.
"Over the next several months, we have plans to make additional improvements based on your feedback, including scaling competitive season bans, a notification system that will alert you when a player you’ve reported is actioned, and functionality that will allow us to more aggressively penalize players who attempt to abuse the in-game reporting tool."
