Overwatch is a competitive shooter which released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in May of 2016. The Nintendo Switch wouldn't release for another year and thus missed out on
Overwatch. However, recent happenings seem to suggest that the multiplayer game will finally be making its way onto the Switch.
Last week saw an Amazon listing surface for a Nintendo Switch case which had the
Overwatch logo emblazoned on it. Interestingly enough, the product was said to have been officially licensed by both Nintendo and Blizzard Entertainment — the latter of those being the studio behind
Overwatch. After gaining droves of attention, the listing was promptly taken down.
Emily Rogers and Sabi (
@New_WabiSabi), two reputable and well-known leakers, have both corroborated that Nintendo are to debut a new Nintendo Direct video update within the week. Naturally, the proximity of the two supposed leaks isn't thought to be coincidental. Many are expecting that
Overwatch will be officially announced as coming to the Switch during the video.
Some are even suspecting that Tracer, one of
Overwatch's most popular characters, will be announced as the next
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter.
