Overwatch itself launched all the way back in 2016 and Overwatch 2 was announced back in November 2019. Despite how long it has been, we don't seem any closer to the release of the latter. Though, some leaked details do seem to emerge every so often.
However, perhaps Blizzard Entertainment isn't only focused on developing the sequel to the online multiplayer shooter. Perhaps they're also working on a mobile game to do with the science-fiction franchise. That's what this newly surfaced job listing would suggest.
According to the listing, Blizzard Entertainment are interested in hiring a Product Manager for a "Mobile Project." Among other things, the listing states "this person will be working on multiple titles: Diablo, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and many more fantastic games." While the mention of Diablo and Hearthstone isn't so suspicious seeing as those franchises do have mobile games under their belt, Overwatch is yet to venture into that territory.
This could be a mistake on Blizzard's part, though, it's very rare for job listing to not be fact-checked. As just mentioned, Blizzard does have a trend of making mobile games based on their most popular franchises. What's more, they usually opt to make entirely new games rather than simply port games onto mobile. So, we could have an Overwatch mobile game on our hand to hold us over until the seemingly far-off release of Overwatch 2.
