Developer PUBG Corp. announced this weekend at PAX East that Miramar, desert map in
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, will be releasing for the Xbox One version of the game next month. The announcement was confirmed for those not in attendance at PAX East via social media. Unfortunately, no specific release date has been announced, but more information is "coming soon."
Although Miramar has been available in the PC version since December, the Xbox One version of the game, which also released in December, only has the original map Erangel. As you can see, the Miramar map is a lot different than Erangel. Whereas the original map is green and lush and full of trees and vegetation that provide cover, Miramar is much more sparse, leaving players a lore more exposed when running between buildings. The map also includes three additional vehicles: the minibus, the pickup truck, and the jetski.
In addition to Erangel and Miramar,
PUBG is also
getting a third map on the PC version. Testing for the map, Codename: Savage, began this week. The new map is much smaller in size, measuring 4x4km, resulting in a much more action-centric and aggressive gameplay.
