The original
RAGE hit stores nearly nine years ago, and hardly anyone had ever asked for a sequel to that title. Upon release, players and critics seemingly agreed that id Software's technologically ambitious game was an underwhelming, and insanely short experience, set in a depressing, but also quite beautiful post-apocalyptic world. In the upcoming
RAGE 2, Bethesda hopes to fix those mistakes.
RAGE 2 is the gaudy baby of an unexpected cooperation between Avalanche Studios (
Mad Max, Just Cause) and id Software (
DOOM, Quake), the creators of the first
RAGE. Unlike the 2010 shooter,
RAGE 2 will offer players a chance to explore five distinct biomes, each popping with color and its own identity.
RAGE 2 will feature not only endless deserts, but also swamplands, underground cities, and forests.
According to id,
RAGE 2 takes place around 30 years after the original. During that time, the world has partially rebounded, with the wasteland that has colors, richness, and life to it.
RAGE 2 finally releases in three months, so be sure to check out the latest action-packed gameplay from the game below:
In the year 2185, humanity’s numbers are dwindling. Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule who remains with an iron fist. You are Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland. Robbed of your home and left for dead, you’ll tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling bloodthirsty gangs to find the tools and tech needed to take the fight to The Authority and crush their oppressive rule once and for all!
RAGE 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 14, 2019.
