The first
RAGE was released seven years ago and hardly anyone ever asked for a sequel to that title, as the majority of players and critics agreed that id Software's game was an underwhelming and short experience set in a depressing, but quite beautiful post-apocalyptic world. Out of nowhere, Walmart Cana... Bethesda announced
RAGE 2 right before E3 2018 making the fandom quite confused.
The players who enjoyed the grimy, bleak, and more mature approach to the series might be pretty disappointed to hear that
RAGE 2 is leaving id Software's idea of the world's end behind, heading into much more gaudy and "fun" direction. In a recent interview with Game Informer, the development crew of Id (
DOOM) and Avalanche (
Just Cause) revealed their approach to reinventing the franchise.
"
The game takes place around 30 years after the original and life has come back to the wasteland, and now we have these biomes that have colors and richness and life to them," id Software's explained. We will learn a lot about
RAGE 2 in the coming days, as it will receive a brand new gameplay trailer during today's Game Awards 2018 that will officially begin at 5:30 Pacific time. Take a look:
