The beginning steps to dispel rumors of the similarities between Star Wars Battlefront and the Battlefield games series has been taken. Battlefield games us a server browser and social network to connect players with matches.
Developer NeXuSDK said the following in response to a NeoGAF post. "While Uprise has been doing Battlelog, does that automatically mean that we will do Battlelog for Star Wars Battlefront? No, it won't. That can only be an assumption, and I can tell you, no, there won't be Battlelog for Star Wars Battlefront."
Fans of the Star Wars Battlefront series have been worried that the new game will have many similarities between the two. So far DICE is responding by addressing at least one similarity. Another Developer (DICE_TheBikingViking) said of its matchmaking process, "The thing we (Uprise) are working on is built from scratch." and reiterated "No browser game launching."
DICE is well on its way to making the new Battlefront game unique in its own aspect. EA on their site recently addressed the 1st person, 3rd person rumor.
DICE also released that the game is aiming to run at 60fps and use destruction in the game. Here is a tweet regarding the level of destruction that will be used in the game.
