Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers, especially when it comes to visiting the galaxy far, far away. While there have been numerous Star Wars collaboration events in the past, this upcoming one is poised to be the biggest yet.

Announced at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025, Fortnite: Galactic Battle is a five-part Star Wars-themed event with its own Battle Pass and weekly gameplay content. The event kicks off with Part 1: Imperial Takeover on May 2nd. Part 2: The Pull of the Force begins on May 8th, followed by Part 3: Mandalorian Rising on May 22nd, Part 4: Star Destroyer Bombardment on May 29th, and Part 5: Death Star Sabotage on June 7th.

Each week will presumably see new content added to the game. Galactic Battle will culminate with a live end of season narrative event.

Although Epic is keeping the exact details surrounding the event a mystery for now, the announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer that highlighted some of the new content coming our way. Fans can look forward to a new "Force Lightning" ability as well as piloting iconic Star Wars ships like X-Wings and Tie Fighters. It was confirmed during the panel that up to four people will be ride on an X-Wing, which would be a first in Star Wars history.

The teaser also provided a glimpse at some of the new outfits in the Star Wars-themed battle pass. Emperor Palpatine will be making his Fortnite debut along with the fan-favorite Darth Jar Jar.  Two other outfits will “put a Star Wars spin on fan-favorite Fortnite original characters": Apprentice Evie in both a Jedi Evie and Sith Evie style, as well as a Wookie Team Leader look.

The beloved Jedi Mace Windu, who we see briefly in the trailer, will also be available through the in-game Item Shop along with all new Star Wars-inspired cosmetics.

This expanded Star Wars-themed in-game event comes about a year after Disney invested $1.5 billion in Fortnite owner Epic. We've since seen various Disney IP integrated into Fortnite, but Star Wars and Marvel are by far the most prevalent. There are also plans to create an entirely separate game that focuses completely on Disney IP, although we haven't seen or heard much about that beyond the initial announcement.
