STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 2 Kicks Off THE LAST JEDI Season Of Free Content Today

Star Wars Battlefront 2 hasn't been met with the warmest of receptions, but EA is hoping to win some fans back with their post launch content, which is free by the way. EA has a ton of new content in the pipeline, and it starts this month with the first "season" of updates. Fittingly, December's free content is themed around the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi.

First and foremost, upon logging in you'll be asked to choose a side: The First Order or the Resistance. Choose wisely as EA says this decision "will follow you for the remainder of Season One." New Challenges will be tied to your faction and completing these will not only reward you with Credits and Crafting Parts, but help edge your faction closer to victory, giving all members of that faction additional rewards. The "losing" faction will still get a Crate for their participation, but it will contain "lesser prizes."

The first challenge tasks players with getting 50 kills with each trooper class. This doesn't need to be completed before the next Challenge arrives (Dec. 8); you have until the end of the season to finish and can complete them in any order.

The meat of The Last Jedi Season actually comes December 13 with the arrival of new heroes Finn and Captain Phasma, a new Galactic Assault Map (Crait), a new Starfighter Assault Map (D'Qar), Tallie's RZ-A2 A-Wing Starfighter, and a continuation of the game's story mode with "Resurrection." More Challenges are scheduled throughout the remainder of the month.
