Star Wars: Battlefront 2 got off to a shaky starts with its release, thanks to the controversy surrounding loot boxes, but EA is finally back on track and releasing fresh content for players to enjoy. Just in time for the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Battlefront 2 has received a hefty batch of free DLC that includes new playable characters, new maps, and a new addition to the game's single-player story mode.
Today's DLC is part of "The Last Jedi Season," the first free season of content in Battlefront 2. Finn joins the battle as a playable hero for the Resistance, while Captain Phasma leads the First Order. Both characters are unlocked without any Credits required for players who log in during the season.
Additionally, two new maps become available today: Crait for 20v20 Galactic Assault matches, and D'Qar for 12v12 Starfighter Assault.
As a reminder, to begin The Last Jedi Season, you must first choose to fight for the Resistance or The First Order. This decision will have a lasting impact on your gameplay, as it will be linked to Challenges that reward players on both individual and faction-wide levels.
For those who prefer a more solo experience, Star Wars Battlefront 2 Resurrection continues Iden Versio's journey through the First Order's rise to power. "Taking place after completion of the single player campaign, Iden returns to search for answers in three all new chapters," the description reads. "In her pursuit, she uncovers secrets of the First Order that leads into the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi."
Star Wars Battlefront 2 The Last Jedi Season content is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
