Set in Washington D.C.,
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 takes place seven months after the deadly virus was released in New York and ruined the once-great city. Just like the first
Division, the sequel will spotlight people who banded together to survive by any means necessary, this time facing even more dangerous factions made up of mutineers and criminals who believe that "
might makes right."
The fact that
The Division 2 is powered by the first game's engine (Snowdrop) and built with the familiar tools by basically the same team gave Ubisoft a chance to recycle some of the assets they used to create the 2016 title. YouTuber Nick930 has shared a video comparison video that spotlights some differences between New York and Washington, confirming that the world hasn't changed that much and the Swedish game developer is instead focusing on improving what worked in the original.
The ongoing beta will end on Monday, so be sure to download and give it a fair shot while you still can. In this camouflaged demo, you can play some solo and co-op missions, encounter other players in Dark Zone East, the largest of all three Dark Zones in which players have to utilize long sightlines in over-grown governmental parks, check out the PvP mode and even end game activities. Take a look:
Washington D.C. is on the brink of collapse. Lawlessness and instability threaten our society, and rumors of a coup in the capitol are only amplifying the chaos. All active Division agents are desperately needed to save the city before it's too late. You are a member of the Division, an elite group of civilian agents charged with being the last line of defense. With DC at risk, it's time to gear up and use your unique skills to take on this new threat.
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 will be available March 15th, 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
