DOOM 64 Officially Revealed For The Nintendo Switch; Expected To Release In November

Late in July, Bethesda and id Software surprised us all by announcing that they would be re-releasing a bunch of classic DOOM titles in home consoles and mobile devices; including the original DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM 3.

A rumor suggested, however, that the developers were not done releasing ports of these iconic DOOM titles, as leaked information by the PEGI rating system had listed and rated DOOM 64; suggesting that the title would also be releasing at some yet-to-be-determined date.

During today's Nintendo Direct presentation, Bethesda officially confirmed that, for the first time since 1997, DOOM 64 will be released on a Nintendo console. The good news don't end there, as the game was also revealed to become available on the 22nd of November.

While the PEGI rating system seemingly confirmed that DOOM 64 would also be releasing for the PlayStation 4 and PC, this doesn't seem to be the case — at least not just yet — as the official DOOM Twitter account doesn't mention any platforms other than the Nintendo Switch.

Whether DOOM 64 is re-released on other platforms remains to be seen, but this is still great news for fans of the series who haven't been able to play the game since the late 90s.
