Earlier today, we got our first look at the direct-to-video Doom: Annihilation film, as Universal 1440 Entertainment releases a teaser trailer for the movie and — to be quite honest — it looks like it won't be winning over fans of the long-running demon-slaying series.

From what we could see in the teaser trailer, the movie looks extremely low-budget(although this could actually be a good thing if handed properly), but everything else looks simply underwhelming, as it doesn't really have that DOOM vibe that fans of the series expect from a live-action movie; something that, surprisingly, the 2005 DOOM movie did have at times.

A quick glance at the like/dislike ration on the movie's teaser trailer reveals that fans are not on board with Doom: Annihilation at all. Because of this, fans have taken to Twitter their questions about this live-action adaptation and one of them got a response from the official DOOM Twitter account.

When Twitter user NinjaTripleXXX asked the official Twitter accounts for DOOM and idSoftware what their honest opinion on Universal 1440 Entertainment's Doom: Annihilation was, the official Twitter account for DOOM simply replied with a "We're not involved with the movie". Ouch.

Now, this doesn't necessarily means that they didn't like what they saw in the Doom: Annihilation teaser trailer but it is very likely that they just want to distance themselves as far from that movie as possible; especially since they're currently working on the DOOM Eternal video game, which is exactly what fans want; and will likely need after watching what looks to be another mediocre video game movie adaptation.

Doom: Annihilation follows a group of space marines as they respond to a distress call from a base on a Martian moon, only to discover it's been overrun by demonic creatures who threaten to create Hell on Earth.

Doom: Annihilation will release at some point in fall of 2019.
