Since the announcement of Xbox One backward compatibility feature, Microsoft has added hundreds of Xbox 360 games and dozens of original Xbox games to the list of older games playable on the XO. What's even better, if you already own any of those games, you can play them on your Xbox One at no additional charge, as Microsoft's Larry Hryb has announced three new backward compatible games.

Xbox One owners finally have a chance to check out The Darkness, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and Duke Nukem Forever on their console, as all three of them are now backwards compatible. While the majority of players and critics agreed that the three titles had some problems when they launched, the best choice is to have a choice, so if you like the shooter genre, this might be a pretty tempting offer.

The Darkness is probably the most interesting of the three games, as Starbreeze's title allows you to channel your inner Venom and kill enemies with self-aware tentacles. The other titles spent a lot of time in the so-called development hell, and it sadly shows, as the X-COM spin-off features some major structural issues, while Duke Nukem Forever is wildly regarded as one of the most disappointing games of the decade. In case you would like to check them out, you can buy each of those games for $3,99.

Use manifestations of the Darkness to devour, impale or implode your enemies Summon and command an army of Darklings - impish and hilarious demonites that commit unspeakable acts Use the absence of light strategically - shadows feed the Darkness so seek the shadows wherever possible Fight your way through the dark and seedy underbelly of New York City, as well as the ethereal realm of the Darkness Play as Darklings in online multiplayer games

The Darkness was released in 2007.

Cocked, loaded and ready for action, Duke delivers epic ass-kicking, massive weapons, giant explosions and pure unadulterated fun! Put on your shades and step into the boots of Duke Nukem. The alien hordes are invading and only Duke can save the world. Pig cops, alien shrink rays and enormous alien bosses can’t stop this epic hero from accomplishing his goal: to save the world, save the babes and to be a bad-ass while doing it. The King arrives with an arsenal of over-the-top weapons, non-stop action, and unprecedented levels of interactivity. With hours and hours of action, and a range of bodacious multiplayer modes, rest assured knowing the fun goes on and on.

Duke Nukem Forever launched in 2011.

The year is 1962 and the Cold War has the nation gripped by fear. A top-secret government unit called The Bureau begins investigating a series of attacks by an enemy more powerful than communism. As agent Carter, call the shots, pull the trigger and lead your squad in a gripping third-person tactical shooter set within a covert war to protect humanity from an otherworldly enemy.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified hit stores in 2013.
