Overwatch 2 is out now in early access on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Just like the first entry in this fledgling video game franchise, Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play, team-based first/third-person shooter featuring a plethora of colourful characters for players to take control of and charge into the battlefield.

Much like when the first Overwatch game launched, Blizzard Entertainment has released an animated short which tells the tale of one of the game's new heroes.

Kiriko is a ninja with the ability to climb up walls and teleport straight to teammates, even through walls. They're in the healer category and can throw kunai to inflict damage upon enemies or suzu at teammates to temporarily make them invulnerable and clean them of any negative effects.

Many of these abilities are put on show in this superbly animated new short in which Kiriko protects an old maintenance worker and his deaf granddaughter from some tyrannical loan sharks.

"The protector of Kanezaka strikes again," reads the description. "Discover the two sides of Kiriko, the loving daughter and the deadly protector."
