EA Motive has been working on a Star Wars video game for quite some time. We've known little to nothing about the game beyond that it was codenamed "Project Maverick." Earlier this week, though, a reputable insider revealed that all would be revealed soon and that they believed it was a combat flight simulator.
Well, Star Wars: Squadrons leaked online earlier today courtesy of the Microsoft Store — as you can see here. We didn't only find out the name and tagline for the upcoming game, that being "Pilots wanted," but the listing also featured some key art that depicted both a Rebel and Imperial pilot stood back to back amidst a battle between the likes of X-Wing starfighters and TIE Fighters.
Following that, Electonic Arts officially confirmed the existence of Star Wars: Squadrons. The EA Star Wars Twitter account has announced that Star Wars: Squadrons will be officially revealed on Monday, June 15th at 8 AM (Pacific time).
They shared a more refined and official version of the leaked artwork as well as a link to the YouTube page that will eventually house the reveal trailer. You can visit the page yourself and even place a reminder so that you will be notified when the trailer is about to drop and when it actually does. Here's a link.
It's likely that June 15th will simply reap the reveal trailer and Electronic Arts, particularly EA Motive, will delve further into what makes Star Wars: Squadrons tick on June 18th during EA Play. It's expected that Star Wars: Squadrons will release in 2021 prior to April, however, that has by no means been properly confirmed or announced.
