Another TITANFALL Game Will Be Released This Year, According To Respawn CEO Vince Zampella

According to Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella, Apex Legends, a new battle royale video game that was announced and released yesterday, is not the only Titanfall title that will launch this year...

After some initial leaks, Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts officially announced and released Apex Legends yesterday, giving all players a chance to check out a brand new battle royale experience for free. While Respawn's latest project is not a proper Titanfall 3 many fans had hoped to see, it's set in the same world and shares some similar gameplay mechanics, just without the actual Titans.

While Apex Legends definitely is a Titanfall game, it doesn't change the fact that various reports claimed that Respawn was working on a proper Titanfall 3 that mysteriously disappeared to become Apex. While Respawn CEO Vince Zampella revealed yesterday that the third entry in the acclaimed series is not in the works, it looks like an all-new game set in this universe will be released this year.

According to Zampella himself, there's one more Titanfall game in the pipeline that is also coming in 2019, as he wrote on Twitter. Considering that EA is seemingly putting a lot of faith in mobile gaming (just like Activation and Blizzard Entertainment), Respawn might be developing a sequel to Titanfall Assault, the series' small-screen spinoff developed by Particle City and published by Nexon in 2017.

Apex Legends delivers a squad-based battle royale experience with a uniquely Respawn flavor. Players will select from one of eight Legends - each with their own unique abilities and playstyles - and the last team standing wins. Combatants can choose from unique characters like Bloodhound, the tracker who can see recent enemy activity on the map, or Lifeline, a battlefield medic who can shield teammates and bring them back from the brink of death. Balanced squads and teamwork are critical, as each Legend is easy to pick up and learn, but challenging to master.

Apex Legends is available on Origin for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One NOW!
