Update 1.8.1 Gives TOM CLANCY'S THE DIVISION A Major Resolution And Image Quality Boost On Xbox One X

Despite not living up to its first E3 presentation, Tom Clancy's The Division is a technically respectable and quite beautiful game, and the newest update brings the goods to Xbox One X with 4K support!

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is on its way and we should expect to see the first official presentation of the game at E3. To first game was revealed the same way back in 2013. The announcement was as, if not even more, shocking as Watch_Dogs' from 2012. But the game didn't deliver mechanics, locations and graphics features the developer has promised which caused many controversies among players.

Patch 1.8.1 is trying to fix at least the apparent "downgrade" issue. Ubisoft Massive's latest update features a lot of bigger and smaller tweaks and improvements, such as adding two new legendary difficulty missions, Amherst’s Apartment & Grand Central Station, a classified gear cache to the special vendor, and removing Premium Vendor Exotics from Open World loot pool and Exotic Caches.

The Xbox One X owners have a chance to check out the game's enhancements on their system right now, including rendering in 4K, higher anisotropy, improved reflections, object detail, and screen-space shadows. According to the Digital Foundry crew, "while not an absolutely perfect, pristine ultra HD presentation, Ubisoft Massive's efforts on Xbox One X are genuinely impressive, with the X patch hitting the full 3840x2160 at the upper bounds. Yes, dynamic resolution scaling is in place, but 2160p is held for the majority of gameplay."

Ubisoft has also released upgraded versions of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, Far Cry 5 and For Honor and the latest Tom Clancy's The Division's enhancements are quite impressive in comparison.

Update 1.8.1.

We live in a complex world. The more advanced it gets, the more vulnerable it becomes. We’ve created a house of cards: remove just one, and everything falls apart. Black Friday – a devastating pandemic sweeps through New York City, and one by one, basic services fail. In only days, without food or water, society collapses into chaos. The Division, an autonomous unit of tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, these agents are trained to operate independently in order to save society. When society falls, we rise.

Tom Clancy’s The Division's update 1.8.1 is live now across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4!
