The annual E3 event may be known for providing fans with the latest video game news, but it's not unheard of for a non-video game project to get a moment to shine during the proceedings, and this year's E3 was no exception.
Last year, we learned that Ubisoft's live-action The Division film had tapped David Leitch (Deadpool 2) to direct the project, which would star Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal, but since then we've heard little to nothing about the video game adaptation.
However, during their massive E3 2019 presentation, Ubisoft officially announced that the streaming giant Netflix had acquired the film and is currently working with the game developer to make the movie a reality.
No other details on the movie were revealed, but the plot of Tom Clancy's The Division takes place in the near future where a virus released on Black Friday has decimated the city of New York and follows a group of sleeper agents tasked with restoring order.
