While the official reveal for EA Sports College Football 27 will take place on June 4th, EA is reportedly going to reveal the cover athletes for this year's game on Tuesday, June 2nd.
Ahead of the planned reveal, sources have leaked to On3 the three athletes who will star on the cover of the Standard Edition of the game. According to the sources, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy and Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney will be featured on the Standard Edition cover of EA Sports College Football 27.
“It’s a blessing,” Moore told On3. “Many times, as a kid, you played multiple games that have cover athletes. As a kid, you dream about being on there one day. And when they gave me the phone call and talked to my team about it, I was excited. It was a great shoot, had a great time. I’m excited for the drop.”
After beginning his collegiate career at UCLA, Moore, who entered college as one of the nation's top quarterback recruits, transferred to Oregon where he flourished in Dan Lanning's offense. In 2025, he threw for 3,565 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, while completing 71.8% of his throws. Now considered one of the nation's to pquarterbacks, Moore boasts NFL-star potential and enters 2026 as a Heisman favorite.
Lacy is one of the nation's most productive backs and was a centerpiece in Lane Kiffin's offense at Ole Miss where he rushed for 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns, while averaging 5.1 yards per carry. In an age where college football is becoming increasingly pass happy, Lacy represents the classic superstar workhorse running back.
Miami's Malachi Toney represents a new generation of versatile offensive stars, excelling as a receiver, runner, and returner. In 2025, he finished with. more htan 1,600 all-purpose yards, including 1,211 receiving yards on 109 receptions (#1 in the nation). Toney was an integral part in Miami's offense and a big reason why the team made the championship.
On3 also reports that USC quarterback Jayden Maiava, Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore and Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti will be featured on the cover of the Deluxe Edition of EA Sports College Football 27. According to leaked cover art, Cignetti is featured prominently at the center of the design, underscoring his growing status as one of the most recognizable figures in the sport after the remarkable transformation of Indiana into a national championship contender.
“It’s an unbelievable opportunity, just for my family and my friends, and everybody who plays the game to connect with them,” Maiava told On3. “It’s going to be really cool to play me as a player, and it’s a really exciting game. I played the game myself, I can’t wait for it to come out.”
We should get confirmation on all the cover athletes, and presumably launch details for EA Sports College Football 27 on Thursday.
