It looks like Bungie's ready to join the free-to-play Battle Royale bandwagon. Back in June, Bungie announced a new strategic partnership with Chinese tech and gaming company NetEase (which licenses games from Activision Blizzard, such as World of Warcraft and Overwatch), as the deal (worth $100 million) gave the Chinese company a minority stake in Bungie and a seat on its board of directors.
The title of that pricey Bungie and NetEase collaboration has been seemingly revealed and it's Matter. According to the trademark filled in the EU, Matter falls into the “video game software” and “electronic games services provided by means of the internet or other communication network" category, basically confirming that it's a video game. Bungie has also trademarked the title's colorful logo.
We will hear more about Matter in the future for sure, as the mysterious game's in the early stage of development. In the meantime, Bungie will remain busy updating Destiny 2: Forsaken. Take a look:
