In 2017, when
The Surge was released, players were dropped in a dystopian future where they must fight drones, zombie workers and machines with the help of a powerful exoskeleton. The game boasted unique gameplay, similar to that of the
Dark Souls series, but had more elements such as the limb-targeting system and cinematic finishing moves.
For
The Surge 2, developer Deck13 made a whole new environment, but will keep things familiar. Here is the official word from Focus Home Interactive on their forums page:
"The Surge 2 keeps what fans and critics loved about the original – hardcore combat utilizing a unique, dynamic limb targeting system and deep character progression – while also expanding greatly upon the formula. The Surge 2 takes place in a brand new environment: a sprawling, devastated city with larger and more ambitious level design, made possible by Deck13’s upgraded and improved engine."
Expect to see more weapons, more implants for your exo-suit and more boss battles. So far, this is the only information available for
The Surge 2.
The Surge 2 is planned to release for consoles and PC in 2019.
