Just Cause 4 is the next entry in the
Just Cause series by Square Enix, where players can blow up pretty much everything they want and drive any vehicle they see.
If there's one staple in the
Just Cause series is that everything that can explode, will explode, and
Just Cause 4 is not redefining that any time soon. What they are redefining, though, is the main series' protagonist Rico Rodriguez, who the developers explain wanted to make more relatable and not just a mindless avatar that simply blows up things for fun. The developers mention that they wanted to add more depth to the character, which is a more than welcomed addition to the game.
These five new behind the scenes videos show off some of the changes the developers are adding to
Just Cause 4, while also keeping thigs familiar for veteran players of the series. While the developers said they were redefining Rico, they are still bringing all the "badass", which obviously had to include his grappling hood, as well as
Just Cause 3 addition: the Wingsuit.
Just Cause 4 is also introducing players to a new open-world in the fictional country of Solis, located in South America. In this new country, Rico will not only have to face hordes of enemies while avoiding bullets and missiles, but he will also be challenged by the world's ever-changing weather—including blizzards, wind storms, sand storms, and...well, lightning storms.
The developers are really making sure that players find themselves at home when playing the game, but they are also adding a few new things to keep everything interesting. Not like
Just Cause games ever get monotonous, but it is really nice to see what they're doing with the game and fans will likely enjoy all the hard work the devs have put into
Just Cause 4.
Welcome to Solis, a huge South American world home of conflict, oppression and extreme weather conditions. Just Cause 4 sees rogue hero Rico Rodriguez land in Solis to hunt down the truth about his past, at any costs.
Just Cause 4 will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the 4th of December.
