Yesterday, we got some exciting, new information about
Marvel's Avengers — including the reveal of Ms. Marvel as a playable character. During New York Comic-Con,
Comicbook.com managed to get a second with, Crystal Dynamics Senior Brand Director, Rich Briggs wherein it was discussed how long the highly anticipated game will be.
As there are a lot of variables at play and different ways for the player to tackle the upcoming game, Crystal Dynamics can't nail down a precise amount of time for how long it takes to beat
Marvel's Avengers. However, Briggs did provide rough estimate which is based on the studio's previous games — such as
Tomb Raider.
"I think it'll depend on exactly how deep you want to go into it. So if you think about previous Crystal games, you know that if you want to be playing your way through the core story, it's going to be in that area, 10 to 12 hours." Briggs continued on, stating that the game could potentially take more than thirty hours to complete — should the play feel inclined to go after every side objective.
"But if you want to see everything there is, and do all the side missions and everything else, you're generally looking at 30 plus hours in the Tomb Raider games. So we're not putting exact numbers on it just yet, but you can expect something comparable to what we've done in the past with that regard."
Of course, Briggs can't take into account the content that will come after launch. So, really, the upcoming Marvel's Avengers game will be constantly expanding with new additions like playable heroes and missions. "And then, of course, you have the extended narrative and the extended game plan, more heroes post-launch."
Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Marvel's Avengers will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC on the May 15th, 2020.
