Marvel's Midnight Suns once again has a release date, and it feels like this one could be permanent. As part of the D23 Expo 2022, 2K and Marvel Entertainment announced a December 2, 2022 release date for the tactical role-playing game. This release date will apply to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC versions of the game.
The last-gen version for Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch still does not have a release date, but is said to be coming at a "later date."
In addition to the new release date, 2K and developer Firaxis Games have released a gameplay trailer. We get another look at the tactical RPG, including the card-based tactics gameplay along with the story and character-driven RPG elements.
In Marvel's Midnight Suns, you'll take on the role of The Hunter, a fully customizable superhero and legendary demon slayer. You'll team up with legendary heroes from across the Marvel Unvierse, such as Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Captain America, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Dr. Strange, Wolverine, Blade, Ghost Rider, and more. Together you are the last hope of stopping the Mother of Demons from completing an ancient prophecy and summoning her evil master, Chthon.
In a surprise announcement, it was revealed that a series of prequel shorts will be released in the lead up to Marvel's Midnight Suns launch. A total of five short videos will provide backstory on how Lilith became the Mother of Demons, and how Super Heroes like Blade, Magik, Ghost Rider and Nico Minoru came together to form the young core of the Midnight Suns. A brief intro teaser was shared and it definitely looks awesome. The first prequel short will premiere on October 31, 2022 on the Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel with subsequent videos released weekly.
Although we've still got a few months until the release of Marvel's Midnight Suns, the game is currently available for pre-order. Doing so will net you a Doctor Strangee Defenders Skin.
