Microsoft and Mojang recently released a brand new trailer which teases that "Revamped cats and precious pandas are coming to Minecraft soon!”
The trailer, titled “Cats & Pandas: A Minecraft Fable of Friendship”, adds some lore behind the pair of mobs. Apparently there was some kind of feud over the jungle biome which was settled over a napping contest.
A nap-off gone wrong leaves cat and panda relations in shambles. After many failed attempts at peace, the two sides find common ground. When they’re not sneezing or snacking on bamboo, pandas can be found rolling around the jungle.
The update will make cats infinitely more useful than their current state. It's said that they're chase away unwanted mobs and sometimes bring gifts to their owners - just what those gifts may be remains to be seen. Panda's simply lounge around in the midst of the jungle, eating bamboo all day.
