During last year's E3, Microsoft introduced players to a brand-new action-adventure game that is set in the Minecraft universe and based on classic dungeon crawler titles — which is called Minecraft Dungeons and is expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC in Spring of 2020.

Minecraft Dungeons got its first gameplay trailer during this year's E3, which gave players a better idea of what to expect from this brand-new title; unlike the original Minecraft, however, this game features an isometric viewpoint more akin to the dungeon crawler genre.

Today, the official Minecraft YouTube channel has shared a new — and quite epic, to be fair — cinematic trailer for Minecraft Dungeons; narrated in a very The Lord of the Rings kind of fashion that tells us the story about an outcast Illager going mad with power.

Check it out:

When a lonely, outcast Illager stumbles upon a mysterious object with terrifying powers, his entire existence is turned upside down. Before long, he finds himself on a path of evil, causing mayhem across the Overworld. Who can stop him?

Minecraft Dungeons is expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC in Spring of 2020.
